International Tabletop Day is coming to Glimpses on April 11th. We will be playing lots of different board games throughout the day. Feel free to play our games or bring in your own so that others can learn to love your favorites. There will be scheduled games as well as free play. The third of our scheduled games will be a silly dexterity game for ages 8+
In 1954, Ishiro Honda directed the first Godzilla movie and introduced the world to the concept of the Kaiju (translation: gigantic monster!). In Terror in Meeple City, 2-4 players take control of Godzilla-like kaiju and take turns to knock over a city. To move, players will flick a small wooden disc labelled “feet.” To make a breath attack, players place their chins on top of their kaiju figurine and blow as hard as they can. To punch a building, players will pick up their kaiju figure and drop it on their desired target. This game even has rules for picking up cars and throwing them around the board like so many leaves in the wind.
If that description makes you smile, then Glimpses is the place to be this Saturday, when we will be paying Terror in Meeple City, along with a smorgasbord of of other awesome games! It’s all part of the third International Tabletop Day!
